Grenoble Winter Games: 1968
At home viewers of the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble got the most life-like experience of any at-home viewer.
CBS made it possible for viewers to feel closer to the action by broadcasting the Winter Games in color. OMEGA also helped improve the at-home experience with technological advances to the Omegascope. They made it possible to superimpose names on athletes so TV viewers had a better understanding.
Fun Fact: Grenoble introduced the first non-official mascot, Schuss. He was a caricature on skis.
