Glam-Rock Jewelry by Stephen Webster

A couple years ago when I went to the annual jewelry show in Las Vegas, I had a chance to meet Stephen Webster. He’s this tall, longer haired, scruffy kind of a guy and the only person I know that can get away with wearing a cigar jacket paired with dark jeans at a JCK booth. Talking to him was a treat. The way he described each piece’s design was intoxicating. Every detail had a different inspiration and he truly conveyed how much of an artist he is. “Webster’s keen eye for detail, expert craftsmanship and glam-rock attitude has given way to dramatic creations with an eternally chic aesthetic.”

I had originally chosen this week to talk about Stephen Webster because of Halloween, but this collection is perfect for guys looking for more masculine jewelry or for a woman that wants something that is almost one-of-a-kind. The collections are available in either silver or gold and have inspirations stemming from rose thorns, sharks teeth, ram’s heads, snake skin and many other unique looks. Don’t worry, he does have an amazing fine jewelry line that from every angle there is something new to find. He does a pair of 3D 18kt white gold chandelier style diamond earrings in his Thorn Noir collection that look like diamond encrusted rose stems. The earrings matched with a cocktail ring from his “Seven Deadly Sins” collection would stand up to any designer piece at a formal affair. Not to mention it would be a conversation piece that would be the talk of the evening.

The men’s collection can only be described as rock and roll. There aren’t very many options out there for men’s jewelry. Either it’s outdated or it doesn’t really look like it was designed with men in mind. Stephen Webster defies the norm and promotes men’s jewelry for daily use. There is no reason why his bracelets can’t be worn with a suit and when added with a pair of his cufflinks they make a great team. The cufflinks would make great gifts for the guys in the office or for your top sales people. Definitely worth checking out!

“Being a mock rock star comes with its own set of draw backs. For a start, you kind of live the life but at the same time feel the need to be up and in the office by about 9-9.30am. True rock stars don’t even have the gene that says “you have responsibilities and need to get up, its 2pm”. That alone sucks. The second thing is traveling alone. And the third and foremost is not getting on stage to the screams of adoring fans. Obviously I try not to dwell on this to an unhealthy extent but now and again it can be tough. Yesterday I said to Mick Jones “how many games have you seen in the world cup so far?”. He replied “all of them”. Followed by “It’s great, it starts at about noon and goes on all afternoon and evening. Roughly 10 hours a day”. Just to clarify, that’s every day for a month. I’m not jealous, it’s just very grounding. On top of that, Mick will stroll out on stage headlining Glastonbury in front of 100,000 people as part of the Gorillas next week. Be adored and still be in front of the telly the next day to resume watching the next game having earned an honest months pay for an hour and a half’s work.”
