Angela Lindvall for John Hardy

John Hardy announces the brand’s new collaboration with Angela Lindvall, the stunning model and longtime environmental activist. We are excited to share their newly released Fall 2010 advertising campaign featuring Angela and introduce the Hijau collection, the striking new interpretation of the Bamboo design motif.

Supermodel Angela Lindvall immediately fell in love with the John Hardy brand upon her visit to the Bali compound, spending time with the John Hardy team and learning of their like-minded ecological goals. An ardent environmentalist for many year, Angela promotes sustainability and conscious choices for young people through her own organization, The Collage Foundation. It was a natural choice to make Angela the star of the new fall ad campaign, shot by Sebastian Kim, a favorite photographer of magazines like Vogue, Interview, V Magazine and Numero.

During her trip to Bali, Angela visited with Head Designer and Creative Director, Guy Bedarida, to begin their collaboration, which quickly flourished to friendship. Eventually, she became the muse inspiring Guy’s new designs and spent much time with the John Hardy team, learning the art of chain weaving from Guy’s team of artisans. Impressed by the brand’s green activities and captivated by the wonders of the island, Angela explored the rivers of Ubud and the Mount Batur volcano and took part in daily life on the compound by helping plant next season’s rice harvest.

Inspired by the Art Deco period, the Fall 2010 collection unites classic Parisian glamour with the raw elegance of John Hardy’s signature motifs through geometric shapes, strong angles, streamlined curves and highly-polished surfaces. Angela shows off the newest pieces in a natural, mysterious and sensuous ad campaign, set amidst real bamboos.
