The Horse Bit: A Gucci Icon
A horse bit is a piece of metal placed between a horse’s teeth, near the back of the mouth, and is attached to the bridal and reigns. The horse bit design has become a staple aesthetic of Gucci and has appeared in a variety of transformative ways since its introduction in the 1950’s. The horse bit made its initial appearance on tan leather saddle-stitch Gucci bags and now has been integrated into a luxurious jewelry line. The Gucci horse bit Jewelry collection is comprised of 18-karat yellow, white, and rose gold with a high polish finish and pave set diamonds. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
