Spring 2010, introduces Kali Zen, an exciting new evolution of the classic Kali collection. This key collection, an all-time John Hardy favorite, is reinterpreted with greater lightness, elegance, and femininity. Carved Chain details depict the raked sand of Japanese Zen gardens, making them the perfect pieces to layer with the Classic Chain collection.


The back grills illustrate scenes of the Zen garden, the tea ceremony, and the figure of a geisha. In the realm of the Japanese tea ceremony, every gesture is significant – a ritual of attunement to the natural world.

Since its launch in 2002, the Kali collection has become a John Hardy signature look. Kali means ‘river’ in Balinese, and pays homage to the water-smoothed stones that line the streams and paths of Bali. The collection is distinguished by highly polished free-form pebble shapes set in a random pattern – like the river stone paths found at John Hardy’s workshop in Mambai, Bali – giving the pieces wonderful organic texture.
